My New all free clear Laundry Detergent

Summer is the time of the year that my hubby and I most enjoy outdoor activities. We do fishing, gardening and like to pick wild blueberries & mushrooms in the woods near us. Our clothes get dirty and stained doing many of these activities but the worst are my hubby’s clothes when he cleans fish.  Neither one of us like to clean fish but we do like to catch and eat them 🙂 .

I have a special stain remover but I prefer to use a detergent that already has a stain remover ingredient in the mixture like the all free clear products.  This is the first time I have tried all free clear laundry detergent.  all mighty pacs are pre-measured concentrated detergent.  They are free from perfumes and dyes which is nice for someone like me who has sensitive skin and sense of smell. The special formula is designed for people who might suffer from allergies or rashes.  1 mighty pac is all that is needed for 1 load.   photo DSC_0001_zpsmimlhz7k.jpg

The first time I tried mighty pacs, I cut it open and poured the liquid into the drum, I wanted to make sure that the container would completely dissolved.  I soaked it in the water separately to make sure and sure enough it did.  I was amazed and actually enjoyed watching while it was dissolving.  For my second load, I just tossed in the whole thing.  I threw the mighty pac directly into the drum and then added the laundry on top. all mighty pacs dissolve completely in all water temperatures.

all free clear is also 100% hypoallergenic.

NEW From the #1 Detergent Brand Recommended by Dermatologists Allergists and Pediatricians comes all free clear liquid fabric softener, dryer sheets, OXI mighty pacs and OXI boosters.  It’s tough on stains but formulated to be gentle for the whole family’s skin. How Does Moving Affect Your Children? We Discuss!

If you are about to move home, you might wonder what impact that has on your children. After all, moving means that they will leave everything (and everyone) they have ever known. It is a massive deal for young kids. If you want to make the transition as smooth as possible, you need to consider their feelings. The more you think about what they need, the easier things will be.

Help them to meet new people

Once you have moved home, you need to help your children meet new friends. The sooner they meet new people, the better it will be for their social development. Of course, young children tend to find this step easier than teens. You should encourage your kids to take part in group activities or join clubs at school. You might even want to see if there are any children in the neighborhood who they could meet. The more people your kids meet, the better chance they have of making new friends.

Understand the social impact

When children are young, they make a solid group of friends. If you tear your kids away from that network of social support, they may struggle. You need to acknowledge that. Introverted children tend to suffer more than extroverts as they find it hard to make new friends. If the move is 100% necessary, you should think about how you can make it as easy as possible. After all, young children need friends around them so that they can build their confidence levels.

Talk to your kids about the move

The first thing you need to do is chat with them about the move. If you are moving into corporate apartments for work, explain that it is necessary for your career. Give your children credit. They understand logic and reason. If they think that you’re moving for the sake of it, they will not respect that decision. If you explain how the move benefits everyone in the family, though, they will be likely to understand. When you have made the decision to move, sit down with your kids and tell them what the plan is. They will respect your honesty.

Let your children ask questions

Your kids will have loads of questions about the move, and so you ought to prepare yourself as much as you can. You should know that the first thing they will ask you is why you’re moving. You’d better have a good answer for that question. Next, they may try to plead with you. Don’t bargain with your children. If you have made up your mind, you need to be firm with them. Let your kids ask any questions they want about the move. The more they know about what will happen, the more comfortable they will become with the idea.

Give things time and be patient

While you will want your kids to integrate right away, you need to be a little patient with them. At first, your children might find this step hard. After all, it is a huge deal for them. You need to make sure that you give them the space that they need to relax and settle into their new surroundings. If you try and rush your kids development, you might find that it is counterproductive. Instead, you need to let them move at their pace. In time, they will learn to love their new home, but you can’t force things as this is a mistake. Remember, everything takes time, and so patience is your best weapon. Once you move, things will feel weird to start with, but they will get better over time.

How to Prevent Volleyball Injuries This Summer

Volleyball has experienced a surge in popularity in recent years, particularly among U.S. high school and college students. The number of people taking to this sport recreationally has also increased exponentially, according to the United States Volleyball Association. With the advent of summer and beach-going weather comes a natural surge in volleyball playing as well. Unfortunately, this popularity has resulted in a growing increase in the number of injuries related to the sport. The following are ways to prevent and protect yourself from volleyball injuries this summer.

1. Use the Right Equipment

As with any sport, you need the right equipment in order to protect yourself from getting hurt. When it comes to indoor or outdoor volleyball, the following gear is essential:

 Knee pads – like these from Worldwide Sport Supply
ď‚· Elbow pads
ď‚· Malleable shoes with ankle support
ď‚· Padded defensive pants
 Sunscreen – Choose a sweat resistant sunscreen like this from Badger Balm
ď‚· Mouth guard

While some may argue that the last item on this list is not essential, more and more coaches are recommending the use of mouth guards to protect players’ teeth from elbow contact to the face, which is a common occurrence. As a preventative measure, its use is more than warranted.

2. Always Warm Up First

Allowing time to stretch your muscles before a game cannot be underscored enough. Beginning a match with cold muscles is a common cause of injuries among players—not just for volleyball, but for any sport. Unlike some sports, however, volleyball players are constantly twisting, turning and diving. Therefore, ankle, shoulder and arm injuries are particularly acute. A warm-up practice that targets these areas can be critical when it comes to injury prevention.

3. Proper Court Maintenance is Key

Sometimes overlooked, ensuring that the court of play is well maintained is an important factor in preventing volleyball injuries as well. For indoor games, wiping the court periodically with a hand-held mop specifically designed for the surface will help keep accidental slips and falls at bay. Similarly, for outdoor volleyball games, ensuring that the sand or grass is clear of debris such as glass or other objects will help prevent cuts to your feet and limbs.

4. Know Your Body’s Limits

Simply put, it’s important to listen to your body and to take a break or sit out when you need to. Like not warming up, overexertion is a common cause of injury in the sport. Also, it’s important not to overdo it, particularly if you’re playing recreational volleyball. Don’t go for that spike, for instance, when your ankle or shoulder is feeling overexerted. Instead, rotate out as necessary or simply take time out from playing the game itself. As the old adage goes, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure—during the summer and anytime of the year.

Decorating Tips For Brightening Up Any Event

When it comes to preparing a home, gymnasium or event hall for a special celebration, fabric can turn a plain room into a beautiful one. When decorating for a special celebration, there are many different types of fabric to choose from, but tulle is a versatile option that can work well for many occasions. It comes in a variety of colors, which means you can layer it to create different visual effects.

Adding this fabric to a pipes and drapes structure can help to segment a room, hide unsightly areas, and help to reinforce a theme or mood.

What Are Pipes and Drapes?

Pipes and drapes are a free-standing frame system designed to hold fabric and other decorations for parties and special occasions. They can be used to frame doorways, stand against a wall, or even act as a barrier in some instances.

If you’re holding a party for young ones, covering your pipe and drape completely with tulle and hanging strands of twinkle lights under the fabric is a great way to create a glowing decoration. It is also easy to dress up the pipes by wrapping the fabric around it like a garland. You can even mix colors to liven up the look. You can then use the framing system to highlight an entryway or other area of the room. Dress it up even more by adding decorative strands of plastic ornaments and beads.

Tie It Up

Create a sweeping entryway by tying up the fabric like a curtain, then drawing it back at the sides so the framework is open. This is a perfect way to highlight a door or other object behind the pipe and drape. If you’re worried about the curtain staying in place, just sew it in place. Since it’s mesh, this shouldn’t damage the fabric for later use.

Create Curtains

If you plan on using pipes and drapes as dividers, use your textile to hang simple curtains over the frame. You can keep the fabric smooth or bunch it up for a pleated effect. To make hanging easier, sew a pocket for the pipes to go through at the top.

Combine Ideas

You can also use a combination of ideas, such as using a contrasting color over a mesh curtain. Add a curtain, swag and twinkle lights. The fabric is so useful and striking, it can really make a room look beautiful, and help your event to be a success!

Parents: Why It’s Not All About the Blackout Blind

For years new parents have been told that the blackout blind is their best friend and in truth, this is completely accurate. This is one of those items that could potentially get you several more hours’ worth of sleep every week – and this is something that money just can’t buy initially.

However, to think that blackout blinds are the be-all and end-all is a very one-dimensional way of thinking. While these window blinds are almost miracle workers initially, one might want to bear the future in mind before buying an expensive set.

The fortunate thing about blackout blinds is that they are one of the oldest types of product in the industry and as such, they are available for exceptionally low prices. It’s possible to buy plain versions which cost next to nothing and during the early days, where practicality is everything, this is absolutely essential and all that your little one needs.

It’s essential as well if you want to save money in the future. At the moment, your new-born won’t have any idea about their blinds. Some parents might want to provide some form of stimulation and this is perfectly understandable. However, if you are looking to get the most value out of your window treatments, consider wall art or something else that isn’t going to result in a massive initial spend on your blackout blinds.

The reason we are so against these blinds for the future is that the demands of your little one will eventually change. Now, it’s all about sleep – but a couple of years down the line and the latest cartoon character will be in their head – or something else just as artistic.

Therefore, it’s all about keeping one eye on the future. Unfortunately, you just don’t know what cartoon character they are going to be fixated on. If you did, you could go out and buy the appropriate blackout blind with said character etched on right now.

So, there is the issue of catering towards their interests. However, there’s also the small factor of durability. Now, your little one is fairly static – crawling is a long way away and so are the exciting days of paint pots flying everywhere. However, one day they will come. Painting will become an obsession and eventually, your blinds will be in the firing line. It’s in these cases where some of the more durable materials need to be considered, with vinyl and PVC being two of the obvious choices.

The message we are trying to convey is that blinds should grow with your little one. You shouldn’t be looking to splash your entire nursery budget on blackout blinds for the initial months – a basic set will suffice which will just prevent the light from entering the room. Then, as time progresses, you can start to invest more in exciting patterns and durable materials. Both of these will be really important after a couple of years but for now, save the cents until it matters.

Ultimate Checklist to Help Prepare for Your Move

Are you preparing for a move to a new house? Well, you need to read this essential checklist!

Get the Date Straight

It seems like an obvious piece of time, but getting the date of your move right is vital. Once you find it out, make a note of it and attach it to the fridge, so it’s staring at you every day. That way you won’t forget it. If you’re renting your current property, you should make sure that your landlord is notified of the moving date as soon as possible too.

Check Your Insurance

You need to make sure your home insurance covers you up until the day you move house. You need to notify your insurer of the move and let them know how long you need to be insured at your old property for. The last thing you want is for your insurance to expire early and then for something to happen to your property before you move.

Hire Movers

Moving is a big task to undertake, and I wouldn’t recommend going it alone. Hire a respected removal company like American Home Movers to make the move a lot swifter. Or, if you know someone who has recently moved house, get in contact with them and see if they have a company to recommend to you. If you use professionals, you’ll be much less likely to make mistakes and experience breakages.

Order Anything Essential for the New House in Advance

There are some things that you don’t really want to be without when moving into a new property. You should make a list of everything you’re going to need to buy for the new house, and then order the essential things in advance. This could be a new oven or carpets, for example. Then they can arrive at your new home at the same time as you do.

Pack Your Non-Essentials First

Packing is the biggest task involved in moving house, but there are ways in which you can make it easier for yourself. The first things you need to pack are all your non-essentials. That means all the things that you aren’t going to need or miss much before you make the move. It’s best to get these things packed as early as possible.

Notify All the Necessary People

There are a lot of people that need to be notified when you move house. Some of them are obvious and have already been mentioned like your insurers and your landlord. But you also need to make sure all your friends and family have your new address. You should also tell your utilities providers, your bank, magazine and newspaper subscriptions and anything else that relies on your address.

Make a Labelling System for the Packing

Everyone moving house needs a labelling system. If you don’t use one, you will regret it when it comes to unpacking everything at your new home. It might be as simple as numbering the boxes and making a list that tells you what is in each box number. It won’t take you long to do, but it will save you a lot of time later on.

Moving house can be incredibly stressful, so let this checklist make things easier.
